The Side Kick
Rebecca the Rogue starts off in Combat Stance. (see stances)
She sets her front foot by pointing her heel in the direction of where she is going to kick. This heel setup is not unlike the roundhouse kick. In this example, it's to the left. As she sets her heel, her left arm shoots out to the left. She then lifts her left leg up, directing her knee in toward her chest. Her "kicking foot" has her heel down and her toes up (called the blade edge). She then pushes her leg out, releasing the kick, brings it back into her chest, and returns to her combat stance.

Defense
benefit: Sends your oppenent into another world of pain. This kick,
when delivered correctly, could render the oppenent inoperable. For example,
if the side kick is delivered to the oppenent's knee, it would easily snap.
You can use this kick to knock the wind out of the oppenent as well because
your using the biggest muscle in your body...your buttocks. This kick is very
popular amongst smaller framed men and women because it can do a lot of damage
easily.
Fitness benefit: Incredible workout for the buttocks.
