In
November 2006, I was first introduced to Les Mills programs as a participant
by my coworker in Shanghai. I immediately fell in love with Body Combat and
Body Jam. Upon my return to the US, I was so happy to find the same classes
being offered at the Golds Gym.
Since then I have become a Body Jam instructor and now I'm ready to take on
the challenge of instructing Body Combat. I find it amazing that after taking
Body Combat for 2 years, it still kicks my booty and challenges me with the
new moves to master. I love being an instructor and have a great passion for
Body Combat, which I hope to pass on to the members.
I really look forward to joining the Body Combat Team! Frank, Rebecca, Debbie
and Lisa are awesome instructors and I know I will learn so much from each
one of them. Thanks for all the support from the Team and the members!

I
was first introduced to Les Mills Bodycombat program as a participant, and I
fell in love with the program. When I was first approached about becoming an
instructor, I was apprehensive, but eager to see if I could stand up to the
challenge. Initially I was approached by Stefan, since his was the class I was
taking at the time. Stefan told me that he thought that I would be a good addition
to the team but at the time I felt I was still so new and unprepared. Frank
was the one who, quite literally, pushed me to go do the weekend certification.
I walked into work one day and he said "You are going to do the combat
training in March (of 2007) even if I have to help you pay for it!"
Even though my teeth chattered at the thought, I was still excited and thrilled
that I might be apart The Bodycombat team. I was lucky enough to have Carla
and Rebbecca taking the combat training weekend with me, and I am so grateful
that I had the opportunity to meet and get to know these two wonderful women.
We had a great time and learned a tremendous amount about ourselves, and we
got to do that together. Bodycombat has brought many things into my life. It
has shown me to have respect for myself as well as others, to keep my eye on
the prize at all times, it has taught me to focus and believe in myself, it
has taught me to stand tall and stand proud, but the most amazing thing Bodycombat
has brought to my life are the people. The participants that I can see smiling
and having a great time. And the most amazing team to work with. I am incredibly
grateful to have met Everyone. I owe a thank you to Frank, Stefan, Rebbecca,
Carla and Eric for being so supportive of me and for continuing to inspire me.
Thank you all so much. And to the participants, stick with the fight, stand
tall and stand proud, I believe in you. I'm with you all the way team.Rebecca

I discovered Body Combat
late in life and have never turned back. Have been involved in fitness in
one way or another for the last thirty-something years when my own mother
introduced me to "Jazzercize". I am at my most happiest working
out and team teaching with my friends and exercise comrades. Anyone who knows
me will tell you how much of a Les Mills junkie I am. I can never get enough.

Sasso - Body Combat Team Captain
February.
2006. My wife comes home and tells me I would really like this class they
have at Gold's Gym in Lawrenceville, NJ called BODY COMBAT.
So, not having worked out
for years, much less martial arts, I figured, I'll try it. After the first
class, I was extremely fatigued and flushed. I was barely able to breath,
but I really enjoyed the class. Having a martial arts background, (Red
belt in Yoshiki karate and a 3rd degree brown belt in BBC's Kenjutsu)
I really appreciated the choreography, the attention to safety for non-martial
artists, and the "It's ok if you mess up" guidance I received.
Fast forward to Summer 2010. I have been both humbled and empowered towards creating MAGIC in all my classes as well as everyday dealings with people. The Body Combat team I'm on consists of Debbie Brooks, Eric Ferrara, Cat Liu, Jen Tang, and Marla Baccari. You just don't get a better team than this. They humble and challenge me constantly to become not only a better instructor, but a better person. • • -- back to top --
